Brunch. The delicious phenomenon that swept the nation and settled firmly into the norm. Nestled between breakfast and lunch, brunch is a free-for-all of indulgence. Will you choose sweet stacks of hot pancakes, or maybe a virtuous Breakfast Buddha? Will your brunch be the fry up to end all fry ups? Perhaps you’re moving straight to Mimosas, Dry January be damned. If you haven’t gathered a gaggle of friends, worn your Sunday best and indulged in this leisurely no-mans-land yet, you simply haven’t lived.
Brunch At The Qube, Tenby
Now, at the Qube, we have made sure to make brunch last. What is brunch if not the excuse we all need to spend hours luxuriating, chatting and eating? We’re officially giving you permission to brunch it up… at, well, breakfast time.
The Qube opens at 9:30am, and serves ‘til 11:30am (and 9am on the weekend of course, where brunching is taken very seriously). It’s in this window that the menu will be presented to you, and you’ll enter a world of brunching possibilities.
It’s All About Eggs
A world without eggs is a world without brunch. They are the very backbone of any respectable mid-morning menu. It’s with this in mind that we tell you the most important thing about ours. Our eggs don’t just come from happy, well-fed, free-range, beloved chickens, no. They are also collected with great care, hand scrubbed and hand delivered, by Charlie Ronowitz, an entrepreneurial 13 year old in the family business. We can truly vouch for our eggs because they’re laid by ‘Charlie’s Chickens’ at Qube HQ!
Now that you know they’re excellent (we resisted the pun), you’ll need to know all the ways you can order them.
The Qube Brunch, so-called because it includes just about everything, boasts two fried eggs, sunny side up. They’re both runny and firm when poached in our iconic Eggs Benedict and likewise, our more decadent Eggs Royale. Smashed avocado serves as a bed for them in a new classic, adorned with chilli, coriander and spinach. For a smaller appetite, pop one in a roll.
Stacks of Crowd Pleasers
Nothing seems to please the crowd like a cheeky pile of hot, fluffy pancakes. Stacked, buttered and dowsed in maple syrup, these beauties are the jewel in our brunching crown. Choose to add the sweet and sharp twang of strawberries and blueberries, or have it all, sweet and salty, with our savoury streaky bacon. Add Nutella, why not, and if you’re really feeling wild ask for a mad mash-up of all the above. It’s not on the menu, but we reckon fortune favours the brave.
And that’s all we’re going to tell you, you’ll simply have to try it for yourself. Gather a group and prepare for a veritable sit-in of indulgent feasting, where all the rules of polite society are out the window. Drinking before 5pm? A sweet dish that isn’t dessert? Fry-ups where you can’t see the plate? All acceptable under the rules of brunch.
